Trump Welcomes Caitlin Jenner To Use Ladies’ Rooms In Trump Tower

NBC’s Today Show featured a half hour “Town Hall” conversation with Donald Trump and his lovely family. The beautifully dressed and coiffed Trump crew spent some time gushing over The Donald, who sat there trying to look humble.

Then it was time for some direct questions. Savannah Guthrie and Matt Lauer asked about his poor numbers with women and independents, but the response was rambling, roundabout and repetitive. It was filled with stories of his own fabulousness and how women just love him.

When the show turned to questions from the audience, the result was the same. Long winded, circular statements that didn’t say anything. One man asked about how Trump plans to destroy ISIS and he got a description of Hillary Clinton’s role in Libya. A woman asked if Trump planned to deport her undocumented relatives, and the answer was about Ted Cruz being born in Canada.  Lauer and Guthrie tried to intervene and get him back on topic, but it was useless.

Until an audience member asked about North Carolina’s law on bathroom use by transgender people. As Trump began to ramble on about the law, Matt Lauer cut in with a question:

“Do you have any trans people working in your organization?”

“I don’t know. I really don’t know. I probably do.”

And then Lauer went in for the key point:

“So if Caitlin Jenner walked into Trump Tower and wanted to use the bathroom, you would  be fine with her using any bathroom she chooses?”

In a very rare moment of absolute clarity, Trump replied:

“That is correct.”

Wow, right? The GOP is going to have its head explode!

But before we get all soft and warm about Mr. Trump, it’s important to note that he went on to explain his main objection to the law.

“There is a move to make new bathrooms for transgender……and it would be incredibly expensive for companies and for the country.”

The Donald hasn’t changed.
