BREAKING: John Kasich Suspending His Campaign

We woke up to some big news today. Indiana held its primary last night, and Ted Cruz has suspended his campaign. Now, John Kasich is dropping out as well.

Trump won and took all 57 of the state’s delegates last night. Cruz dropped out because he could not see a “viable path” to victory. The statement from the Kasich campaign said:

“Our strategy has been and continues to be one that involves winning the nomination at an open convention.”

Their plans were to prevent Trump from getting the 1,237 delegates and stop him. There would’ve been a chance for the other two candidates to take delegates from Trump.

Kasich was supposed to have fundraising events tonight, but the attendance has dwindled down since Trump’s victory in Indiana.

Kasich was sitting at fourth place in the Republican race since he has only won one state.

The Kasich campaign was a little more optimistic after he won in his home state of Ohio on March 15.

Trump won with 53 percent of the vote while Kasich only won 7 percent.

Republican strategist Tim Miller said that Trump is going to have an “impossible” time bringing the GOP together. Some conservative leaders are meeting to try and come up with a third party candidate to compete with Trump. Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid said that the party was to blame for the rise of Trump, though.

Cruz and Kasich had tried to come together to stop Trump, but I guess that alliance didn’t work out.

So, now Trump is likely going to be the GOP nominee. I’m sure I’m not the only one that is terrified. Please, everyone! Vote blue! We can’t let this idiot anywhere near the Oval Office!
