WATCH: Former Arizona Governor Thinks That The Women Thing Has Gone Too Far

While the Republican Party is busy collapsing upon itself, random governors and pundits have come out of the burning Republican house with asinine opinions following close by. One of these opinions come from former Arizona governor Jan Brewer, who thinks that “the women thing” has gone too far.

What is She Talking About?

A Donald Trump supporter, Brewer was invited onto CNN to expand on her opinion on the presumptive Republican nominee, Donald Trump. She was asked if she was willing to work with Trump. CNN host, John Tapper, touched on Donald Trump’s abysmal performance with women, hinting that he may want to pick a woman to help mitigate the damage felt by many Republican women who feel alienated by his sexist rhetoric.

Brewer retaliated, hinting that American politics puts too much emphasis on women and their role and contribution to American politics. Brewer felt that left-leaning Americans are the ones who put an emphasis on women. It is true that Democrats, liberals, and left-leaning Americans tend to align themselves with progressivism, which happens to foster conversations about gender and the importance of representation. Apparently, this aspect disturbs some Republican individuals. Who knew?

Does Trump’s Republican Party have A problem With Women?

Trump has such a low favorability rating with female voters that it can negatively impact his chances in the general election. One who habitually fails to see his own faults, Trump has created this unfavorability on his own accord by supporting the idea that women who have abortions should be punished, as well as his ongoing feud with Fox News anchor, Megyn Kelly. Harsh words towards Ted Cruz’s wife also contributed to the general atmosphere of disrespect towards women.

American men have historically voted Republican, with women – especially college-educated American women – typically leaning towards the Democratic party. Donald Trump isn’t doing female voters a favor by constantly using sexist discourse throughout his campaign trail. However, some people like Brewer are apparently immune to problematic rhetoric stemming from their own party.
