WATCH: Phil Robertson Weighs In On The Transgender Bathroom Issue

One of the biggest issues in the media right now is the “bathroom bill” in North Carolina and other states. This discriminatory law, HB2, requires transgender people to use the bathroom that corresponds with their birth gender and not the gender they identify as now. Many musical artists, companies, and other celebrities are boycotting the state as a result of this bill.

The Department of Justice finally weighed in on the issue this week. They say that these bathroom laws violate the Civil Rights Act of 1968.

Now, another known conservative has spoken out in favor of this discriminatory law.

This is the same man that compared liberals to Hitler and said that we are led by “the Evil One” (Satan).

In an email, this is what Phil Robertson offered as insight into the controversy:

“Men should use the men’s bathroom and women should use the women’s bathroom. Just because a man may ‘feel’ like a woman doesn’t mean he should be able to share a bathroom with my daughter, or yours. That used to be called common sense. Now it’s called bigoted.”

As if this wasn’t bad enough, here is another gem from the email:

“The Judeo-Christian values that led America to greatness are under full assault by the mob mentality of political correctness, and we’re slowly losing our soul.”

Robertson did not name North Carolina specifically is his email, but he is collecting money for a “Speak Freely” campaign that he feels is needed.

This is not the first time the Duck Dynasty star has made controversial comments. In 2013, he made some ugly, ranty comments against gay people in a magazine interview and the network they were on briefly suspended him. Conservatives boycotted until “Duck Dynasty” was back on the air.

Here is a gem from that interview:

“It seems like, to me, a vagina — as a man — would be more desirable than a man’s anus. That’s just me. I’m just thinking: There’s more there! She’s got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes! You know what I’m saying? But hey, sin: It’s not logical, my man. It’s just not logical.”
He uses the word logic, but I don’t think he knows what that word means.
