WATCH: GOP Senate Candidate Threatens Reporter During Interview

Unless you happen to live in Colorado, chances are you’ve never heard of Jon Keyser. He’s a GOP candidate running for the U.S. Senate, and he got in the ballot by collecting enough signatures from registered voters. One small problem, however: Some of those signatures are now in question.

Yet when a reporter from the local television station Denver 7 asked Keyser about the debate over the signatures, Keyser thought it would be a good idea to threaten the reporter while a camera was pointed at him! Specifically, Keyser told reporter Marshall Zelinger:

“My dog is bigger than you are. He’s huge. He’s a big guy. Very protective.”

When Zelinger sought clarification on what Keyser had just said, the thuggish Keyser replied that his dog weighs 165 pounds.

Keyser has been under scrutiny in recent weeks because he initially failed to secure the 10,500 signatures he needed for inclusion on the ballot. Further investigation by the media led to this report:

“Denver7 has talked to several people whose names appeared on petitions for Jon Keyser in the first congressional district who claim their signatures were forged.  Many of those signatures were collected by a woman named Maureen.”

After a favorable ruling from a judge, Keyser was allowed onto the ballot, but that is far from the end of the matter, ProgressNow Colorado is now involved, and they had this to say in a statement:

“ProgressNow Colorado sent a letter to Mitch Morrissey and Peter Weir, the District Attorneys in Denver and Jefferson County, respectively.

“‘We ask that you pursue a criminal investigation of Jon Keyser and his campaign immediately. Colorado voters must have full confidence in the integrity of the election process.'”

So in the midst of the controversy, Keyser decides to threaten a reporter. Sounds like he needs to be disqualified for being a cheater and a douchebag.
