Donald Trump just loves getting into lawsuits. He is always threatening to sue people. He is facing a trial right now over his fraudulent Trump University. An artist did a painting of a nude Trump with tiny man parts, and she faced a lawsuit.
You may be wondering, how many lawsuits has he actually been involved in? The answer is a whopping 3,500. These suits were in federal courts and state courts over the last three decades. That is higher than any other presidential nominee ever. He or his companies were the plaintiffs in 1,900 cases and defendants on 1,450 cases. There were 150 cases involving bankruptcy or third parties.
Right now, he has 50 civil suits open. He has sued over seemingly small amounts.
He uses lawsuits to distance himself from failing projects. He has been involved in over 100 tax suits over his property tax bills.
The court documents involving the Trump University case have been opened this week. Trump is asking for them to be resealed:

Hillary Clinton had this to say about the trial:
“Trump and his employees took advantage of vulnerable Americans, encouraging them to max out their credit cards, empty their retirement savings, destroy their financial futures — all while making promises they knew were false from the beginning,”
The school opened in 2005 and promised to teach students about real estate investment. It ended with over 5,000 people being defrauded of over $40 million total.
USA Today reported:
“The legal actions provide clues to the leadership style the billionaire businessman would bring to bear as commander-in-chief. He sometimes responds to even small disputes with overwhelming legal force. He doesn’t hesitate to deploy his wealth and legal firepower against adversaries with limited resources, such as homeowners. He sometimes refuses to pay real estate brokers, lawyers and other vendors.”
