Home Depot Founder Endorses Trump, Angles To Build Wall On Mexican Border

If you’re thinking about making some home improvements or purchasing some garden equipment, here’s some information that might come in handy before you decide where to buy your supplies: the founder of Home Depot, Bernie Marcus, says he’s supporting Donald Trump and urges all Republicans to fall in line behind Herr Trump.

In an article he wrote for Real Clear Politics, Marcus said he decided to support Trump when he began thinking back to his past:

“But I draw even more from lessons learned when we founded The Home Depot in 1978 rather than from the contentious GOP primary of 2016. I genuinely believe that if we to started The Home Depot today, we would fail because of the hurdles government, especially the current administration, places in front of small business owners.  I never forget The Home Depot’s small business roots – we started as a small business with four stores in Atlanta, Georgia.”

Marcus then decided to do some Democrat bashing, which is always popular with right-wing Republicans:

“Politicians like Obama and Clinton, aided by the media and academia, have peddled a dangerous sentiment that government can provide for Americans better than the private sector.”

Yeah, cause you guys are doing such a stellar job providing lots of low-wage jobs and buying members of Congress who can write laws that allow you to become modern-day robber barons, Bernie! How many poor people did you provide food for today, Mr. Marcus?

Finally, Marcus shifts into shameless plugging mode and concludes:

“As a GOP donor who stood steadfastly behind Jeb Bush– and who has contributed to candidates for a generation – I urge all Republicans to stand up and be counted in support for Donald Trump.”

I can’t prove this, but I have a sneaking suspicion that Bernie Marcus is only lining up behind Trump because he’s counting all the money he can make selling supplies for that famed wall on the U.S.-Mexico border that the Donald has promised to build.

As P.T. Barnum may or may not have once said:

“There’s a sucker born every minute.”

If you doubt that, look under the name Bernie Marcus and you’ll soon realize it’s painfully true.
