RNC Spokesman Tries To Defend Trump’s Racist Comments, Fails Miserably (Video)

Pity the poor Republicans. They have watched for months as the Donald Trump–aka the Orange Menace–gained more and more power, accumulated millions of votes, and became the presumptive GOP nominee. And now they realize far too late that they should have kicked him out of the party a long time ago.

Friday morning, the Republican National Committee (RNC) tried their darndest to put a happy face on the incredibly racist comments Trump has made over the past two weeks about federal judge Gonzalo Curiel, who is the presiding judge in the fraud suit against Trump University. The RNC sent spokesman Sean Spicer to do a spot on CNN, and it soon became obvious that a train wreck would have been more graceful. Spicer began by telling host Kate Bolduan:

“On Tuesday, [Trump] was very clear that he was not trying to speak to the judge’s heritage. He has gone out and clarified what his intent was.”

Really? Is that right? Matter of fact, it could not be more incorrect, because what Trump said was this:

“I have had horrible rulings, I’ve been treated very unfairly by this judge. Now, this judge is of Mexican heritage. I’m building a wall, okay. I’m building a wall. I am going to do very well with the Hispanics, the Mexicans.”

Bolduan brought the quote to Spicer’s attention, and his next tactic was to try and deflect the question:

“He has gone out and clarified what his intent was, so I’m not going to re-litigate the past.”

Re-litigate the past? He never even answered the damn question!

Bolduan then pointed out that House Speaker had labeled what Trump said as racist and “beyond the pale,” which made Spicer sound like a parrot who has only bothered to learn one line:

“They are continuing to re-litigate something that has been clarified.”

Spicer want a cracker?
