While it remains unclear exactly what promises of a future job Chris Christie was given when he agreed to endorse Donald Trump, you have to imagine that Christie is probably regretting his decision right about now.
According to sources within the Trump campaign, Christie is now the Donald’s manservant. As Ryan Lizza first reported in the New Yorker:
“[Christie] has transformed himself into a sort of manservant, who is constantly with Trump at events.”
The report from Lizza also alleges that an anonymous GOP source told him a friend on Trump’s campaign “used Snapchat to send him a video of Christie fetching Trump’s McDonald’s order.”
Oh, how the mighty have fallen!
You may recall that Christie has also been ordered to get back on the plane after introducing Trump at a rally, and then there’s the Super Tuesday victory speech where the New Jersey Governor looked like he was appearing in a hostage video. The look of panic and concern etched on Christie’s face at that event was enough to make a man second-guess his future plans and run for the exit.
Don’t get me wrong: I don’t feel the least bit sorry for Christie. The guy is a big-time jerkweed who deserves all the humiliation Trump can dish out. I just wish we could get ahold of that Snapchat video and let the entire world see it.
