WATCH: Caitlyn Jenner Says Trump Will Be Good For The LGBT Community

You would think someone that has come out to the public and become a face, of sorts, for the transgender community would have a little more common sense when it comes to LGBT and women’s rights.

In an interview with People magazine, Caitlyn Jenner spoke about presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, and how she felt about his stance on these two critical subjects. Jenner stated,

“Trump seems to be very much for women. He seems very much behind the LGBT community because of what happened in North Carolina with the bathroom issue. He backed the LGBT community.”

Has Jenner been hiding under a bus since Trump has been running?

It is not hidden knowledge that Trump is known for making derogatory and chauvinistic remarks about women for as long as he has been in the public eye.

Though, “getting the vote,” often changes the candidates outspoken personality about these issues, Trump has not been able to help himself but to let his feeling on women slip out on numerous occasions during his campaign.

Trump’s initial reaction to the very sneaky and secretive decision made during an emergency session of North Carolina’s state legislature to deny transgender individuals the right to use bathrooms that correspond with the gender they identify with, was in support of the LGBT community, he quickly changed his stance.

Pressure and dislike from fellow Republicans brought a different nonchalant attitude from Trump about the situation where he stated that these types of issues should be handled on a state level and,

“The Federal government should not be involved.”

Jenner is known for her rather conservative views on politics, and though she made these statements about Trump, she also agreed that the Democratic party has historically been better at handling women’s rights and LGBT issues.

In a recent episode of Jenner’s show I Am Cait, she received an enormous amount of backlash from her viewers after talking about her support for onetime Republican presidential candidate, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, and Donald Trump. She grew even more contemptuous as she answered questions about presumptive Democratic presidential nominee former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton saying,

“I would never, ever, ever vote for Hillary. We’re done. If Hillary becomes president, the country is over.”

With either Trump or Hillary looking to be the most likely choices for the next President of the United States, let’s hope Jenner places her vote with the party who always stands up for rights instead of taking them away.
