WATCH: Trump Spokesperson Gets Called Out As ‘Borderline Asinine’ By CNN Commentator

That the Donald Trump presidential campaign is a circus almost goes without saying. And of course, what is a circus without clowns? One of the head clowns in Trump’s campaign is his national spokesperson, Katrina Pierson.

Her special brand of word salad was on full display during a CNN segment to discuss the leadership qualities of a potential President Hillary Clinton versus a potential President Donald Trump. The segment focused on racial tensions in the United States stemming from the killings of two African-American men, Alton Sterling and Philando Castile, by police officers.

The subsequent ambush attack by a wannabe Black Nationalist terrorist which killed five police officers in Dallas, Texas didn’t help either.

In the segment, CNN presented the results of a Quinnipiac University Poll which showed that 67 percent of respondents believe that Donald Trump is to blame for the increase in hatred and prejudice throughout this election cycle.

The host used the survey as a springboard to ask Pierson what a President Trump would do to unite America. Predictably, Pierson went off the rails. She started by saying:

“As I’ve said before several times, the truth is inherently belligerent, just because you’re speaking out against the bullying that’s happening in this country, it makes you actually look at the problems, like I said, there is a severe lack of leadership…”

If you could make sense of that, she continued with what appeared to be more stream of consciousness speaking, telling the CNN host:

“What Mr. Trump brings to the table, which we haven’t seen in decades in this country, are the undoing of failed liberal policies which have contributed to the downplight [sic] of the black community.”

She went on say:

“Mr. Trump has made education a top priority by getting rid of the monopoly that have trapped generations of black Americans in failed public schools.”

She rounds out her tirade by blaming “unchecked” illegal immigration for the problems not only in black schools, but in black hospitals, and even in black churches.

If we ignore for a moment the fact that “downplight” is not a real word, the litany of baseless claims about “failed liberal policies,” or the fact that she blamed illegal immigration for many of the problems faced in the black community, what’s arguably the most priceless moment in this entire exchange is the response from CNN contributor Bakari Sellers, who said:

“I can’t let Katrina’s statements, which were borderline asinine, go unchecked.”

Borderline?
