Donald Trump announced via Twitter this morning, July 15, that he has selected Indiana Governor Mike Pence as his running mate.
I am pleased to announce that I have chosen Governor Mike Pence as my Vice Presidential running mate. News conference tomorrow at 11:00 A.M.

The campaign followed the announcement with the new Trump/Pence logo:
Notice the delicate insertion of the “T” in to the “P” which replaces Old Glory’s stars (and try not to blush).
Now, recall if you will the outrage expressed by right wing faux news organizations such as Fox News, the Blaze, and the Daily Caller back in September 2012 when the Obama campaign started selling the following prints:
Of the Obama campaign flag, the Daily Caller published an opinion piece by Thomas P. Kilgannon, President of the Freedom Alliance, which typified conservative sentiments:
“Last week, as fundamentalist Muslim mobs burned American flags, it was revealed that you, Mr. President, took our nation’s banner, modified it with your political logo, and offered it for sale on your website. The modified American flag was designed for your personal and political profit.”
He continued:
“Mr. President, this is repugnant. Since your modified American flag was brought to the public’s attention, veterans and other patriotic Americans have protested your desecration of it.”
Now that we have seen what the Trump campaign has done to the American flag, we must surely brace for the spewing forth of similar shock and disgust from the outraged right! We must keep our DVRs set for Bill O’Reilly’s “War on Patriotism” segment taking the Trump campaign to task for this perversion of the American flag. We must be on the lookout for the next scathing letter to the Daily Caller from Mr. Kilgannon, castigating Trump for his blatant disrespect for our men and women in military service.
For silence from the right on this would be nothing short of blatantly hypocritical.
I, for one, will not be holding my breath.
