On Thursday night, the country watched as Hillary Clinton spoke at the Democratic National Convention. Her speech, and, indeed, the convention as a whole, has been lauded by those on the left and the right as being an uplifting, largely positive event.
Which means, of course, that the GOP’s nutjob nominee Donald Trump is fighting mad.
LUNATIC FRINGE
Trump took to Twitter on Friday morning to unleash his fury, and his feed looks like the desperate rantings of a man teetering on the edge.

Wow.
This is not a man who has the temperament to be Commander-in-Chief. As Clinton said in one of the most-quoted lines of her speech:
“Imagine him in the Oval Office facing a real crisis. A man you can bait with a tweet is not a man we can trust with nuclear weapons.”
Trump’s toadie, Mike Pence, tried to take some shots, too, but wasn’t quite as bombastic as his running mate. Pence said on Friday morning, in an interview with conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt:
“I don’t think name calling has any place in public life.”
Pence was referring to Obama’s use of the word “demagogue” when speaking about Trump, but Pence might want to consider cleaning up his own house first before he starts talking about name-calling. His new boss has created an offensive and derogatory nickname for everyone who has made him feel threatened.
Just to name a few:
- Crooked Hilary
- Goofy Elizabeth Warren aka Pocahontas
- Lyin’ Ted Cruz
- Little Marco Rubio
- Low Energy Jeb Bush
ALTERNATE REALITY
There is Trump’s world, and there is reality. Trump also tweeted this as part of his barrage of nastiness on Friday morning:
The media coverage this morning of the very average Clinton speech and Convention is a joke. @CNN and the little watched @Morning_Joe = SAD!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) July 29, 2016
Interesting, considering this and this.
And, well, all of this … from conservatives.
Why this convention is better: It's about loving America. GOP convention was about loving Trump. If you didn't love Trump, it offered nada.

Well done, @realDonaldTrump. You made Democrats a party of sunny patriotism and values.
You sure @billclinton didn't ask you to run?

So most of conservative media and the GOP spent the week rooting for Russia, and now the Democrats get to rally around the flag.
Dreadful.

This Democratic convention has been an unmitigated disaster for the GOP. Very well produced. Unifying. Patriotic. Bravo.#DNCinPHL

Even conservative stalwart David Brooks put in his two cents with his op-ed entitled “The Democrats Win the Summer.”
The Real Donald Trump
Clinton said it on Thursday night.
“There is no other Donald Trump…This is it.”
Donald Trump is a man who who retweets and quotes white supremacists and who encourages violence at his rallies.
Donald Trump is a man who posted on Twitter, in anger, the cell phone numbers of elected officials and journalists on Twitter: Kentucky Sen. Lindsey Graham and Telemundo anchor Jorge Ramos.
Donald Trump is a man who calls women “pigs,” who has said he would date his own daughter, and who mocked Serge Kovaleski, a reporter who has arthrogryposis.
Donald Trump is a man who has praised Russian president Vladimir Putin and Saddam Hussein and has said the Geneva Conventions are a “problem.”
Donald Trump is a man who has said Russia should hack Clinton’s email, and that they would be “rewarded mightily” for doing so.
Donald Trump is a man who have very likely leaked dangerous classified intel on his first day of classified briefings.
And Donald Trump is a man who shouldn’t even be given access to TOUR the White House, let alone live there.
