Trump Apologist Agrees With Trump: Sexually Harassed Women Should Just Find Another Job (VIDEO)

Just when you think things will quiet down about Donald Trump another controversy always appears. This time the public outcry is about an interview with Trump spokesperson Kayleigh McEnany. Mr.Trump was quoted early this week on women being sexually harassed saying:

“I would like to think she would find another career or find another company if that was the case.”

His quote did not sit very well with women, as many female activists called him out for his comment soon afterwards. On CNN, when Kayleigh McEnany asked about defending Trump’s statement on women and sexual harassment, Mrs. McEnany gave some, let’s say, sub-par answers. She stated:

“I mean I think that that’s the same advice my father would probably give me. It’s the same advice I would give to my sister. Get away from the situation. If someone is harassing you, if someone’s being aggressive, move jobs, get away from the situation.”

The other CNN guest on at the time, attorney Richard Socarides, quickly pointed out the flaw in what Mrs. McEnany was saying by stating:

“You’re entitled to work in an environment that is free from harassment, that is free from illegal activity, and one in which you are allowed to succeed based upon your merits,” he replied. “But, but more importantly here. I think that this remark, when I heard this remark, the first thing I thought about was Mitt Romney and that 47 percent because this remark, it exposes a worldview of things, exposes, you know, shows Donald Trump, the way he thinks about something. Of course he has always been the boss. And so I think he feels that he’s entitled to act however he wants.”

Think Before You Act

How does anybody in this day and age think letting sexual harassment go is the right thing to do? What Richard Socarides said about Kayleigh McEnany’s comments was dead on: you should be able to work without being harassed sexually — or any other type of harassment. That’s just common sense. Leaving your job because of harassment without doing anything about it only kicks the can down the road to the next worker who takes your place.

Trump and McEnany – Please think before you speak next time, everyone would appreciate it.
