‘When God Sends Your White Daughter a Black Husband’ (VIDEO)

A Christian website, thegospelcoalition.org, actually posted an article titled: “When God Sends Your White Daughter a Black Husband.”

The article is written by a Christian mother, Gaye Clark. She said:

“For years I prayed for a young man I had yet to meet: my daughter’s husband. I asked the Lord to make him godly, kind, a great dad, and a good provider. I was proud of a wish list void of unrealistic expectations. After all, I knew not to ask for a college football quarterback who loved puppies, majored in nuclear rocket science, and wanted to take his expertise to the mission field. I was an open-minded mom.”

“But God called my bluff.”

“This white, 53-year-old mother hadn’t counted on God sending an African American with dreads named Glenn.”

Her Advice To Families In Similar Situations

Clark actually took the time to make a list of things to do. It’s 2016, you don’t need a checklist to deal with an interracial relationship.

She says to remember that “God created all of us.” She is happy that the man is a Christian. She says that we should be understanding of the bigoted family members who say racist things about the couple.

There is no excuse to be a bigot. That kind of behavior needs to go away.

Idiotic Things People Say To Interracial Couples

I don’t think the parent in that article should be making such a ginormous deal out of an interracial marriage. Unfortunately, many people treat interracial couples like some kind of huge deal. Their race shouldn’t matter; they are just two people in love.

Here are some of the inappropriate things people still say to interracial couples:

1. “You’re Going To Make The Most Beautiful Mixed Babies!”

First, you don’t even know if they are having kids. Also, if they want children, they are just babies. No need to add “mixed” to the title.

2. “Seriously, You Guys Are The Future.”

They are just two people in love. They are not trying to make a political statement.

3. “You Don’t Like Dating People Of Your Own Race?”

This is just horribly tacky. Maybe Clark’s daughter is genuinely attracted to black men. Maybe her husband is genuinely attracted to white women. Or maybe they are just two people who met, connected, and fell in love and wanted a future together.

The Racism Isn’t Going Away Anytime Soon

In April, a couple from Mississippi was evicted from their home because the couple didn’t tell their landlord that the husband is black. The landlord said:

“Hey, you didn’t tell me you was married to no black man. Oh, it’s a big problem with the members of my church, my community and my mother-in-law … They don’t allow that black and white shacking.”

Here is a segment from “What Would You Do?” with people reacting to an interracial couple at a restaurant:
