BREAKING–RNC Tells Trump: No More Party Support Unless You Change

Might the Republican National Committee (RNC) kick Donald Trump to the curb this late in the game? Is such a move even possible, and what impact could it have on the 2016 race?

According to a report from Time magazine, RNC Chairman Reince Priebus recently told Trump during a phone call that if his messaging and tone don’t change ASAP, the party will pull all financial support from the Trump campaign and turn their attention–and dollars–on trying to hold the House and Senate, both of which now seem in danger of slipping away to the Democrats.

The phone call allegedly took place shortly after Trump began his attacks on the family of a fallen Muslim-American soldier who died in Iraq. Time also reports:

“Priebus and Trump talk frequently, with the party chair urging Trump for months to professionalize his operations and campaign. But the tenor of the calls turned more frank and frustrated last week as Trump’s campaign slide continued. The officials said Priebus reminded Trump that his title is RNC chairman, not chairman of the Trump campaign, adding that he would act in the best interests of the Republican Party.”

As you would expect from a habitual liar, Trump says the call never happened:

“He never said that. We never had a conversation about that. We do very well together. We never had that conversation. Doesn’t exist. And by the way, Reince Priebus is a terrific guy. He never said that. It was never stated. Why would they state that when I’m raising millions of dollars for them.”

This week, of course, Trump threatened the life of Hillary Clinton, but he says his remarks were taken out of context by the media. And as his poll numbers continue to tank, the GOP is starting to realize that Trump could indeed spell the end of the Republican Party. Grab your popcorn and let’s all watch the elephant implode.
