The all-girl country group, Dixie Chicks, has been under fire for their political views more than once.
Lead singer, Natalie Maines, dropped this tweet two days ago:
I get banned for not liking Bush and now Trump can practically put a hit out on Hillary and he's still all over country radio! Hypocrites!
— Natalie Maines (@1NatalieMaines) August 11, 2016
They also speak to the hypocrisy of conservatives in country music. Occupy Democrats reported:
“The hypocrisy of the conservative base is outrageous. They shunned the Dixie Chicks for speaking out against Bush but have no problem with Trump delving into actual treason by suggesting the murder of his opponent and for blaming a sitting President for purposefully creating one of the biggest threats to our national security.”
The incident they are referring to is Trump saying that Hillary Clinton should be shot. He said this at a rally in North Carolina:
“By the way, and if she gets the pick—if she gets the pick of her judges, nothing you can do, folks. Although the Second Amendment people, maybe there is, I dunno.”
This is not the first time that the girl group has gone against Donald Trump. On their last tour, they put up a picture of Donald Trump with devil horns and a moustache painted on.

It really is a great likeness of him.
Maines has gone after Trump in a few more tweets.
I've been thinking?, and I think if Trump got some balls and let his hair down…,it might look kinda like mine:) pic.twitter.com/h2b9JgAWEN

You know I'm not a big fan of Ted Cruz, but I gotta say…I'm kind of liking his new facial hair. pic.twitter.com/VIC8JWXNKx

She didn’t like Ted Cruz either, but can you blame her?
In 2003, Natalie Maines gave this comment about then-President George W. Bush:
“Just so you know, we’re on the good side with y’all. We do not want this war, this violence, and we’re ashamed that the president of the United States is from Texas.”
Many conservatives boycotted the band, and their music was no longer played on many country radio stations.
For the 12th anniversary of this remark, Maines tweeted:
Just so you know,12 years ago today, over half of this country had lost their minds and some questioned my knowitallness. #dummies?

Here is the video for their song, “Not Ready To Make Nice.” It came out after the Bush controversy.
