Trump Calling The Election ‘Rigged’ Is Hazardous (VIDEO)

When Trump’s dismal poll figures came out after the conventions, he quickly looked for excuses to explain why he might lose the election. He said,

“I’m afraid the election is gonna be rigged”

When asked about it by Bill O’Reilly, Trump explains he thinks voter fraud is a danger because voters will not need ID to vote, he then says people might vote several times. Trump recently addressed a rally in Altoona, Pennsylvania:

“The only way we can lose, in my opinion, I really mean this, Pennsylvania, is if cheating goes on,”

The narcissism here from Trump is astounding. It seems he cannot fathom, that he might well be legitimately rejected by the majority of American people. Trump’s enormous arrogance is behind his idea, that it only voter fraud could bring him defeat. He then says:

“Go down to certain areas and watch and study [to] make sure other people don’t come in and vote five times.”

Trump’s words here are extremely dangerous in that voters may feel intimidated. Ken Gross, a bipartisan election lawyer has responded:

“Trump’s words may motivate people to go to polling places and potentially intimidate people not to vote.”

Trump has urged his supporters to be violent in the past and the danger of his words about voting fraud, is that we could actually see violence in polling booths.

Gross also warned that Trump repeatedly saying that:

“elections are rigged and there’s widespread fraud is not backed up by facts”

Even former Republican Vin Weber agrees, telling the Guardian:

“What you want is to have a civil peaceful election [and] you don’t want to disrupt that.”
