Earlier today, Donald Trump’s campaign manager, Kellyanne Conway, attempted to do what she does best: Spread lies and disinformation about Hillary Clinton. But Morning Joe co-host Mika Brzezinski was more than ready to set Conway straight on her facts.
Conway began by attacking the Democratic nominee for her comment about Trump supporters being a “basket of deplorables.” Conway said:
“She feels so comfortable to tell a bunch of, you know, monied fat cats on Wall Street what she really thinks of people. I think one of the most candid moments for Hillary Clinton came Friday night, when she actually — we got her true feelings about what she thinks about tens of millions of Americans. That is so personally offensive to me — I grew up with laborers.”
No doubt Conway would also claim some of her best friends are black and Hispanic. She lies about everything else, so why not that?
Brzezinski reminded Conway that Clinton was making reference to Trump supporters who advocate a Muslim ban or say 11 million undocumented people should be deported. To that, Conway replied:
“Then why did she apologize?”
A few minutes later, Brzezinski brought up a matter Trump and his spokespeople like to pretend never happened: Trump accusing President Obama of not being born in the United States. Brzezinski asked Conway:
“We’re still waiting to hear your candidate say that he thinks the president was born in this country. There is a long list of things he has said that he has not apologized for that really are deplorable. How do you confront that and then find yourself able to call out Hillary Clinton on something that she actually has apologized for, when your candidate is not accountable for anything he says — not one thing?”
When Conway asserted that Trump is “a very brilliant man,” Brzezinski retorted:
“It seems like a lot of what Donald Trump says is not based on knowledge. Does your candidate have the knowledge to be president?”
Conway said Trump indeed does have the requisite knowledge, which proves she is just as big of a liar as her boss. Donald Trump does not have the knowledge, the temperament, or the skills necessary to lead the most powerful nation in the world. He’s not even qualified to collect garbage, let alone be trusted with nuclear weapons.
