Mike Pence, who has the dubious distinction as running mate for perhaps the most racist man to ever seek the White House, is a genuine douchenozzle in his own right. Let’s not forget that he’s the same dillhole who initially signed a so-called “religious freedom” (translation: LGBT discrimination) bill as Governor of Indiana. He later backed down, but only because dozens of businesses threatened to leave the Hoosier State if he didn’t.
Now we have Pence appearing on ABC’s This Week earlier today and saying that his role model should he become Vice President is Dick Cheney. Yep, good old Dr. Evil himself. Pence told host Martha Raddatz:
“I hold Dick Cheney in very high regard in his role as vice president. Vice President Cheney had experience in the congress as I do. And he was very active in working with members of the House and the Senate.”
Later, Raddatz asked a follow-up question about Pence’s high regard for a man who left office with an approval rating of 13 percent:
“And just one more thing on Dick Cheney, I mean, Dick Cheney was often criticized as being too much of a force over the president.”
To that, Pence replied:
“Well, I think, what I admire most in vice presidents is when they’re able to take the vision of the president and champion that on Capitol Hill. And I would hope that my relationships over my 12 years in congress and my four years here as governor of Indiana would help me carry Donald Trump’s vision to make America great again to people that will be crafting a legislation to put that into practice.”
Yeah, let’s be sure and go back to the days when the oil lobbyists wrote our national energy policy. We certainly want to revisit the hundreds of mistakes and outright lies that were used by Dick Cheney and his minions to start the unnecessary war in Iraq, which led to the creation of ISIS and has contributed to instability in the entire Middle East region. And let’s make sure we guarantee a few more billions of dollars for Halliburton and the other war profiteers who just so happen to be in bed with Cheney and his business cronies.
Mike Pence just disqualified himself from serious consideration. And the asshat he’s running with disqualified himself months ago.
