BREAKING John McCain Statement: ‘Impossible To Continue To Offer Even Conditional Support’ For Trump (VIDEO)

Senator John McCain’s (R-Ariz.) support for Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has been relatively steadfast, even though Trump refused to support him in kind. Today, that’s all over.

John McCain: ‘Cindy And I Will Not Vote For Donald Trump’

In a statement released on Saturday, October 8, John McCain stated, unequivocally, that he will not vote for Trump. The statement reads, in part:

“I have wanted to support the candidate our party nominated. He was not my choice, but as a past nominee, I thought it was important I respect the fact that Donald Trump won a majority of the delegates by the rules our party set. I thought I owed his supporters that deference.

But Donald Trump’s behavior this week, concluding with the disclosure of his demeaning comments about women and his boasts about sexual assaults, make it impossible to continue to offer even conditional support for his candidacy. Cindy, with her strong background in human rights and respect for women fully agrees with me on this.

Cindy and I will not vote for Donald Trump. I have never voted for a Democratic presidential candidate and we will not vote for Hillary Clinton. We will write in the name of some good conservative Republican who is qualified to be President.”

McCain’s statement is, of course, one of many statements disavowing Trump released today by prominent Republicans. The list grows by the hour, it seems. Trump’s comments about Nancy O’Dell were more than lewd, and we as a nation cannot continue to tolerate that type of behavior.

McCain Didn’t Have To Do This

Unlike some of his Republican counterparts, John McCain is not in a tight race. As reported by Huffington Post:

“McCain is up for re-election this November himself, but he appears to have a good handle on the race. HuffPost Pollster shows him with a 10-point lead over his Democratic challenger, Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick.”

I disagree with McCain on many issues, but at least I can say that he’s a decent human being.

The same cannot be said for the Republican nominee.

In case you haven’t seen it yet, here are the comments that caused McCain to withdraw his support. Warning: the following video contains graphic language that some parents may find unsuitable for children.
