If you watched last night’s debate between Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump and Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and were appalled by Trump’s hulking, stalking, sniffing, threatening, and lying, then you were not alone.
While no one was sure what to expect from Trump given that his campaign is in a death spiral courtesy of Trump’s own depraved words about women, we always knew the debate was going to be a spectacle. Much like a train wreck, you could hardly take your eyes off it!

Among those watching were celebrities such as J.K. Rowling, George Takei, and Patton Oswalt, who took to Twitter to provide their own commentary to the proceedings.
The Huffington Post did a great job of compiling some of the following instant Twitter classics. What these celebrities had to say was often as poignant as it was hilarious. There are many more bite-sized missives from where these came from, but enjoy some of the highlights below:
I feel as if Trump just turned to dust right now, no one would really be that surprised.

The slight swaying in place — is Trump drugged? This has a Dayquil/Xanax feel. He's certainly not answering the question. #debates

Trump is the king of empty sentences. No actual information. Like giving a presentation in class when u did none of the reading. #Debate

When Trump says it's just "locker room talk," he's defending the very culture that normalizes sexual assaults on women.

Trump says 'just words, folks.' It's his accusation and his defence. Words don't matter. Facts don't matter. If they don't, we're all lost.

That's not just words. That's describing sexual assault. Which is what you said you did.
