UN Human Rights Chief Releases DIRE Warning To The U.S. (VIDEO)

The United Nations Human Rights Chief, Zeid Ra’ad al-Hussein expressed grave concerns about the possibility of Republican presidential candidate, Donald Trump, deeming his election “dangerous from an international standpoint.”

Al-Hussein discussed his thoughts on Trump’s comments regarding torture and described them as “deeply unsettling and disturbing” during a news conference that touched on Yemen, Syria, and sub-Saharan Africa. He went on to warn reporters in Geneva stating:

“If Donald Trump is elected, on the basis of what he has said already, and unless that changes, I think it’s without any doubt that he would be dangerous from an international point of view.”

The U.N. Chief has recently come under fire from other leaders in the United Nations for his out of place comments towards international political debates. Vitaly Churkin, Russia’s ambassador to the U.N., speaking to reporters about al-Hussein, stated:

“This is not his business. He should be more focused on his specific responsibilities.”

There were rumors that Churkin had complained to the U.N. secretary general about al-Hussein’s comments but the Human Rights Chief denies that there were any formal write-ups prepared.

As the November 8th election moves closer, al-Hussein refuses to lessen his attacks on Trump. Due to serious concerns about the Republican hopeful wanting to reinstate inhumane forms of torture, like waterboarding, al-Hussein continues to speak about the importance of morality in politics generally and has stated:

“There are no bad soldiers; there are only bad officers. I don’t believe that you look at the people. I believe that you look at the political leaderships that are manipulating messages and then hide themselves behind the people.”

His comments are incredibly insightful, and we can only hope that others begin to heed his warnings about the danger of electing Donald Trump for President.
