WATCH: Anderson Cooper SHREDS Kellyanne Conway – ‘Don’t Facts Matter?’

We are almost to the end of this insane election cycle, and the Trumpsters are in full-on spin mode. Kellyanne Conway, campaign manager for Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, appeared on Anderson Cooper’s CNN show to talk about FBI Director James Comey, among other things. Needless to say, it didn’t go too well for Ms. Conway

Pay No Attention To The Comey Behind The Curtain!

The Trump camp cannot figure out how to feel about James Comey. For months, they hated him for saying that there was nothing criminal about the way Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton handled the whole email thing. Then, when Comey made an announcement 11 days before the election that they would be looking at more emails, he became a right-wing hero overnight.

Of course, Giuliani couldn’t keep his mouth shut, and so much as admitted on live television that the FBI had leaked information to the Trump campaign.

Anderson Cooper went toe-to-toe with campaign manager Kellyanne Conway, grilling her about their flip-flop on Comey. He asked her several times if she felt it was “irresponsible” for Trump to speculate as much as he did over the nine days between the release of Comey’s letter and the announcement that the whole thing was a big ol’ nothingburger. At one point, Cooper said:

“People feel lots of ways. That doesn’t make it true. It’s irresponsible for someone who might be President of the United States to be, in your words, ‘speculating’ about an active investigation when he has no actual facts.”

Conway kept insisting that everyone was speculating, which somehow makes it OK for Trump to do so, too. Cooper tried to point out the fact that there’s a difference between pundits and the presidential nominee of a major party, and finally asked her:

“If everybody jumped off a bridge, doesn’t mean you should, too. Don’t you think it is irresponsible?”

Cooper: ‘Don’t Facts Matter?’

Conway moved from the Comey letter to the Clinton Foundation, which started a discussion over transparency. She then began going on about the so-called “machine” they’re running against, so Cooper asked her about the claim made by the chair of the Nevada GOP that polling locations were being kept open so ‘a certain group’ could vote:

“Don’t facts matter? If the chairman of the Nevada Republican Party is making this inaccurate claim, that polling places are kept open so a certain group could vote, it was people in line in time to vote. Why imply that it is this certain group?”

Conway tried to spin it, of course, with the whole “just making the claim” argument, which is a dangerous one to make.

This woman’s entire job is to defend the indefensible, so it’s not all that shocking that she continuously has to pivot and duck questions.
