WATCH A Trump Apologist Call A Molotov Cocktail A ‘Mazel Tov Cocktail’ On CNN

Given how nasty the 2016 race for the White House has been, we’re all in need of some comic relief, and it was provided last night by the eternally dimwitted Trump supporter Scottie Nell Hughes.

Appearing on CNN Sunday evening, Hughes criticized a get out the vote rally held in Cleveland Friday evening by Jay Z and Beyonce. Hughes said she was greatly disturbed by an image in a video for the Jay Z song “No Church in the Wild” which shows protesters tossing Molotov cocktails at police. But instead of Molotov, Hughes let loose with this:

“One of his main videos starts off with a crowd throwing Mazel Tov cocktails at the police. And that’s very much an anti-police message.”

The crowd was throwing best wishes at the police? Because that’s exactly what “mazel tov” means in Hebrew. Scottie, we always knew you weren’t the sharpest knife in the drawer, but this takes the damn cake.

When former HuffPost pollster Roy Sekoff pointed out the faux pas on social media, Hughes tweeted back:

Ah yes, blame a lack of sleep for your own ignorance, Scottie. How original! But far too late, because others on Twitter caught your gaffe and decided to have fun with it:

As Donald Trump himself once said after a primary victory:

“I love the poorly educated.”

In that case, he must be practically head over heels for Scottie Nell Hughes.
