Giuliani: If Trump Holdings Are In Blind Trust, His Kids Would Be ‘Out Of Work’ (VIDEO)

While Donald Trump is serving as the 45th President of the United States, his business holdings will be placed in a blind trust, yet at the same time his three oldest children–Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump, and Ivanka–will continue to run the company. Can you say conflict of interest? Earlier today on CNN, Rudy Giuliani tried to defend the arrangement, and he failed miserably.

Giuliani was told by host Jake Tapper:

“If your kids run your businesses, it’s not a blind trust. A blind trust is an independent trustee who takes over your portfolio and directs it without your input or any input from anyone around you.”

The former New York City mayor went all legal eagle on Tapper and declared:

“Well, first of all, you realize those laws don’t apply to the president. The president doesn’t have to have a blind trust. For some reason when the law was written the president was exempt.”

Then Giuliani attempted to engender sympathy for the Trump children with this bit of drivel:

“I think he is in a very unusual situation, he basically would put his children out of work. They’d have to go start a whole new businesses and that would set a set of whole new problems.

“It would seem to me that if he set up a situation where the children were running it, there was a legal or clear document that meant that he would not involved, he would have no interest in it, he would have no input into it, he would just have a passive interest, that would be the kind of thing that would work here.”

I have an idea: Why don’t the Trump children go to work for companies independent of the company their father owns? Oh, right, I forgot: No one would hire them, just as no one would ever hire their daddy, who has proven time and time again what a sorry ass excuse of a “businessman” he is.

Later, Giuliani told a clearly skeptical Tapper:

“It’s kind of unrealistic to say you’re going to take the business away from the three people who are running it and give it to some independent person. Remember, they can’t work in the government because of the government rule against nepotism, though you’d be putting them out of work.”

How about they just divest themselves from the Trump empire for four years? It won’t be any longer than that because Trump sure looks like a one-term POTUS to me.

Tapper finally set Rudy straight with this:

“Well, Mr. Mayor, I don’t need to tell you that his children are a huge part of his advisory committee, they are advising the transition. If he does not set up a truly blind trust, how can the American people have confidence that when he makes a decision that he isn’t partly making it to enrich himself?”

That, of course, was the plan all along: For Daddy Donnie to grift the United States out of as much money as he can before the impeachment proceedings begin.
