Paul Krugman gives us all a warning about what the future holds under Trump in his latest Twitter rant. He is always a vocal commentator, not just on U.S., but on global politics as well. The Nobel Prize winner’s opinions are worth listening too as well, he is one of the world’s leading economists and a City University at New York professor.
Definitely can’t question his credentials.
In the past he has been fiercely critical of the Bush Administration, and at times was even critical on the job being done by President Barack Obama.
He has a reputation for being a flag bearing Liberal and so his mistrust of President-elect Donald Trump is unsurprising. However, his recent comments made via Twitter are particularly scathing.
Amongst the many barbs aimed at Trump, Krugman has claimed that under Trump’s administration we will see “corrupt governance unprecedented in U.S. history” and refers to Trump as the “profiteer-in-chief.”
It is clear then that there is a real sense of mistrust. It will be interesting to see what Krugman has to say as Trump’s presidency gets under way.
For the full run down of his comments you can read his collection of tweets below:
We're about to enter, or may already have entered, an era of corrupt governance unprecedented in U.S. history. What does it mean? 1/

What matters much more is the distortion of policy in directions that can be monetized. Gratuitous private investors in infrastructure 3/

is just the start. Expect to see lots of privatization and a general shift from transparent to murky so that favors can be traded 4/

And think about the pro-tyrant bias of foreign policy. Democratic regimes — say, in Europe — are by their own rules unable to offer 5/

to the profiteer-in-chief. And that will cause a tilt of U.S. policy toward authoritarian regimes. Stay alert 7/

For all you die-hard Liberals I can recommend following Krugman’s Twitter account. He comes across as a larger then life figure and really pulls no punches when it comes to discussing politics.
