As America lays in wait for the 2017 presidential inauguration on January 20, President-elect Donald Trump scurries to complete his transition process, and the chaos is evident. From back peddling on campaign promises to the scary right-wing cabinet choices, there is mud in the water.
Many Americans are afraid, and rightfully so.
The next President of the United States throws temper tantrums, has late night Twitter rants, and has a problem with anyone who has a problem with him. Not such a good look for someone with the enormous responsibility of leading the country.
Check out all the dirty details of the Trump transition chaos:
1. Back Peddling Campaign Promises
During his campaign, Trump made many promises most of them to the extreme. Within days of the election, he began to peddle back on his promises, changing the course of action for some of the very reasons some people voted for him.
Prosecuting Former Secretary Of State Hillary Clinton
Trump promised during one of the debates that when he won the election, he would hire a special prosecutor to “lock her up” for the email scandal; the same scandal the FBI cleared her of any wrongdoings and one that even as president he would have no authority to prosecute.
Some of his supporters who dislike Clinton are upset that he changed his mind. He mentioned that Clinton was a good person and he wouldn’t want to cause her any harm.
Repealing Obamacare
One of Trump’s promises that hit home to some who are tired of health insurance premiums rising as a result of Obamacare voted for Trump for his stance on repealing Obamacare. He vowed to get rid of it all together, but changed his tone and claimed that he would keep most of the program and making some modifications.
Building of the Wall
Trump made a promise to build a wall and force Mexico to pay for it. The wall has turned into a partial fence so far, and Mexico has no plans of paying for it.
The Ban of Muslims
Trump indicated during his campaign that he would ban Muslims from the United States, his new stance is to implement a better screening process.
Dissolving Legalization of Gay Marriage
No more gay marriage, Trump promised. Now, he says that the Supreme Court ruling is a done deal; it’s law and it stays.
2. Right Wing Appointments
Trump’s RWNJ Cabinet Members Have Americans Cringing
Chief of Staff: Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus
Chief White House Strategist: Trump Campaign CEO Steve Bannon
The appointment of Steve Bannon as Chief White House Strategist has caused an uproar, and Priebus is attempting to help Trump put out the fire. Bannon, also known for his white supremacist mentality, is to some the epitome of make America white again.
3. Nepotism
All in the Family
Trump has requested security clearances for his children and wants his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, to serve as an unpaid consultant to skirt the nepotism law. Jared’s brother Josh owns and operates a health insurance company, which poses a massive conflict of interest.
4. Racism
Divide and Conquer
Some Trump supporters see his victory as a premise to shew hate and division among others. The increase in violence and racism has been unsurmountable. Some people view his win as an entitlement of supremacy.
5. Media Censorship
Eliminate Press Conferences
Trump believes the media was biased toward Hillary during the election process and vows to punish them. He has only held one press conference since being elected and has indicated he will not hold press conferences in the White House.
Bash Media
Trump held a meeting with about 30 to 40 media outlets and scolded them for their coverage on him. His tirade included name calling and finger pointing.
6. Immature Behavior
Twitter Rants
When he is offended or angry, Trump turns to his Twitter feed, often occurring after midnight, when his carriage has apparently turned back into a pumpkin. His rants are unprofessional, and signify his sensitivity and seemingly narcissistic personality.
.@CNN is so embarrassed by their total (100%) support of Hillary Clinton, and yet her loss in a landslide, that they don't know what to do.
