Liberal Media Is Booming Since Trump’s Election

Donald Trump just loves to rail against the media, whom he calls dishonest and biased against him. But in an example of perfect irony, progressive and liberal media outlets are booming with new readers and subscribers since Trump secured the Oval Office a month ago.

Mark Thompson, CEO of the New York Times, reports the total number of subscriptions is going through the roof:

“We’ve seen weeks of 10 times the subscription adds that we saw in the same period last year.”

A few days after the election, Trump took a shot at the Times via Twitter:

The Washington Post, another favorite target of Trump, reported 99.1 million unique visitors to their website in November 2016. That’s a 38 percent increase over last year.

More recently, Trump directed his ire at Vanity Fair after they published a bad review of Trump Grill, a restaurant in Trump Tower:

Vanity Fair turned lemons into lemonade and now advertises itself as the magazine “Trump doesn’t want you to read.”

In the 24 hours after Trump attacked Vanity Fair, the magazine had 13,000 new subscribers. That set a one-day record for new subscriptions.

And Saturday Night Live has also benefited from Trump’s attacks on their satirical skits poking fun at the President-elect. It’s season opener was its highest-rated in eight years, with 8.3 million viewers. That’s incredible when you consider the show comes on after many Americans have already gone to bed.

So please keep attacking the media, Donald! Lots of us have our eye on a nice new car we saw sitting on the lot at the local dealership. And some of us are also trying to save for our children’s college tuition. Oh, and we want to retire in style. So by all means attack away.
