Kerry O’Grady is a special agent in charge of the Secret Service’s Denver district, and back in October she made some ill-advised postings on Facebook in which she said she would not take a bullet for Donald Trump.
In her statement, which she has since deleted, O’Grady wrote:
Asked how the matter is being handled, the Secret Service told CNN Tuesday that it was taking “appropriate action,” and added:
“All Secret Service agents and employees are held to the highest standards of professional and ethical conduct. Any allegations of misconduct are taken seriously and swiftly investigated.”
O’Grady had this to say about what she posted online:
“I thought it was not the sentiment that I needed to share because I care very deeply about the mission.
“I firmly believe in this job. I’m proud to do it and we serve the office of the president.”
Reaction on social media from conservatives and Trump acolytes has been harsh, unrelenting, and filled with plenty of hatred:

Now while I do not in any manner condone what Ms. O’Grady posted on Facebook and understand that one of the primary jobs of some Secret Service agents is the protection of the president, I cannot help but be both amused and angered by the blatant hypocrisy of right-wingers and Trump supporters who for eight years said some of the most heinous things imaginable about President Obama and didn’t seem to have a problem when washed-up former rock star Ted Nugent stood onstage at a concert in 2007, machine guns in hand, and announced:
“Obama, he’s a piece of shit. I told him to suck on my machine gun. Hey Hillary [Clinton], you might want to ride one of these into the sunset, you worthless bitch.”
Apparently such things are acceptable if the person you’re directing the threats at is either black or female. But should you say something about an orange-tinted oompa loompa who brags about getting off on grabbing women by the genitals, it’s way over the line.
