Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) ran for the presidency last year for the Republican party. He made it almost to the end, but the now-President, Donald Trump, won the nomination and the election.

At one point, he gave a rally at a basketball court, and he messed up and called the hoop a “basketball ring.”

Now, he has started a weekly basketball game in Congress to make his colleagues hate him less. The website, Deadspin, issued a request for pictures of Cruz playing basketball, and he actually delivered.

Deadspin said:

“Here at Deadspin.com, there’s nothing we love more than sport. So we were delighted to learn that perpetual failed candidate for president Ted Cruz started a weekly Senate basketball game in hopes of making his colleagues hate him less. Which is great for Ted Cruz, but doesn’t do much for us. We want to right this wrong and share Ted’s love of baskethoop with the world. We want Ted Cruz basketball pics.”

Unfortunately, the picture is not actually of Cruz. This picture is of Duke senior, Grayson Allen, but he does look fairly similar to Senator Cruz.

Deadspin told Cruz to “eat sh*t.” Ted Cruz responded again with the classic Will Farrell gif from the movie Anchorman:
