It’s only been about six weeks since Donald Trump was inaugurated as President of the United States. It has definitely been an eventful presidency. A couple of days ago, Trump tweeted this about former President Barack Obama:
Terrible! Just found out that Obama had my "wires tapped" in Trump Tower just before the victory. Nothing found. This is McCarthyism!

How low has President Obama gone to tapp my phones during the very sacred election process. This is Nixon/Watergate. Bad (or sick) guy!

This is referring to the investigations dealing with Trump’s ties to Russia. It was a legal warrant granted to the FBI under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) in November of 2016. However, President Obama and his cabinet did not have anything to do with it.
A spokesman for Obama, Kevin Lewis said that was “simply false.” He also said:
John Oliver talked about it on his show, Last Week Tonight. He pointed out that Trump’s evidence that Obama did this is pretty thin. He referred to it as “stupid Watergate” and called it:
“…A potential scandal with all the intrigue of Watergate except everyone involved is really bad at everything.”
“…The relevant question isn’t so much ‘what did the president know and when did he know it?’ as it is ‘is the president physically capable of knowing things at all?’”
He also pointed out that we can’t even enjoy the fact that Trump misspelled “tap.” The president just keeps tweeting these ridiculous conspiracy theories.
Oliver also hilariously pointed out House Speaker Paul Ryan’s (R-Wis.) face during the speech when Trump was talking about an end to fighting over “trivial” issues.
You could tell Ryan is trying not to laugh:

The hilarious segment ended with:
“I guess this is just how things are going to work now, then. The president once saw a banana with a bruise that looked like a picture in an article he read in a dream and that is why we’re at f**king war.”
