It’s no secret that tensions are high between President Donald Trump and most news outlets. Things might be worse after a CNN reporter claimed that he’s been in a downward spiral since taking office.
Gloria Borger is CNN’s Chief Political Analyst. She was recently featured on Anderson Cooper 360 and discussed a report she filed.
Apparently Trump isn’t doing so well in the White House. After an exhausting trip overseas, he came home to find the Russian investigation staring him straight in the face.
An inside source said about the president:
“He now lives within himself, which is a dangerous place for Donald Trump to be. I see him emotionally withdrawing. He gained weight. He doesn’t have anybody whom he trusts.”
Not trusting the people around you is bad for any president, especially Trump. He’s notorious for demanding loyalty and firing anyone who dares to question him.
For example, former FBI Director James Comey.
About the firing of Comey because he wouldn’t ease up on the Russian investigation, Borger points out the obvious:
“But that begs the question, of course, of whether a sitting president should actually need to be told that he ought not try to interfere with a federal counterintelligence investigation.”
Isn’t it time we 25th Amendment him?
Unfortunately for #TheResistance, an ally said that Trump only pays attention to others when he’s in a bad mood. So now that the Russian investigation is moving forward, he’s all ears.
Borger also points out that it’s unlikely Trump will ever admit to making a mistake. He’s used to people doing all of the work for him.
An ally of his said:
“He’s sitting there saying, like he does with everything, ‘You guys work for me. Fix this.'”
