Anderson Cooper was moderating a Republican Presidential Town Hall with Donald Trump. The topic shifted to the exchange between Trump and Ted Cruz over their wives’ looks.
First off, this is what the dispute is about:
An anti-Trump Super PAC, “Make America Awesome,” sent out a naked photo of Melania Trump from a GQ fashion shoot. The caption read “This could be your first lady. Or, you could vote for Ted Cruz.” The candidate blamed Ted Cruz with the following tweet:
Lyin' Ted Cruz just used a picture of Melania from a G.Q. shoot in his ad. Be careful, Lyin' Ted, or I will spill the beans on your wife!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) March 23, 2016
This is Ted’s response:
Pic of your wife not from us. Donald, if you try to attack Heidi, you're more of a coward than I thought. #classless https://t.co/0QpKSnjgnE
— Ted Cruz (@tedcruz) March 23, 2016
Here is Donald’s response to that:

Naturally, when Anderson Cooper asked about this dispute, Trump countered with “he started it,” and Cooper nailed him by saying “that’s an argument that a five-year-old makes.” The presidential candidate replied with “that’s the problem with this country.” Cooper continued by saying that every parent has a kid that acts like this.
More reporters need to take a stand against The Donald’s behaviour. Obama has blamed the media for this reality star being the Republican front-runner. The people who interview Trump need to call him out on his lies. Trump commented further on the subject and logic left the building:
“You would say that. But he started it! The problem with our country — that thinking, that’s the problem with the country. He sent out a picture. It was Romney people, they were very embarrassed he did so poorly four years ago, he choked like a dog.”
Anderson Cooper reminded The Donald that neither Cruz nor Romney sent out the tweet. Also, we are wondering where Trump got the rest of this “logic.” He just blatantly changes the subject when confronted with a question he doesn’t like or can’t answer.
Cooper reminded him that he is running for President of the United States, and amazingly avoided rolling his eyes. I don’t think I would have that kind of restraint. Hopefully more anchors will start schooling the candidate in this manner. Here is a video of the entire exchange:
