Today could well be the beginning of the end for Donald Trump. As the House Intelligence Committee begins its first day of hearings with testimony from FBI Director James Comey, it may soon become clear whether or not Trump’s wiretapping allegation is the least bit valid and if the Trump administration is currently under investigation.
To kick off the morning, Trump grabbed his cell phone and began tweeting:
James Clapper and others stated that there is no evidence Potus colluded with Russia. This story is FAKE NEWS and everyone knows it!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) March 20, 2017
The Democrats made up and pushed the Russian story as an excuse for running a terrible campaign. Big advantage in Electoral College & lost!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) March 20, 2017
The real story that Congress, the FBI and all others should be looking into is the leaking of Classified information. Must find leaker now!

What about all of the contact with the Clinton campaign and the Russians? Also, is it true that the DNC would not let the FBI in to look?

More than a hint of desperation and anxiety in those postings, isn’t there? Others on social media picked up on that, too, and let the so-called president have it:
.@realDonaldTrump Prove it. Say one bad thing about Putin. We'll wait.

Oh, more "FAKE NEWS". You keep humiliating yourself on a daily, sometimes hourly, basis. Your own people are turning on you

.@realDonaldTrump @oppstn Lots of finger-pointing this morning. Worried about the Comey hearing?

starting to get nervous about the hearing today? Looking like this will be yet another rough week. Sad!

It’s been said before, but it bears repeating: If indeed Trump and his surrogates had no contact with or engaged in no collusion and cooperation with the Russians during the 2016 election, they would gladly lay all of their information on the table and be eager to help with the investigation. Innocent people want the truth to come out. Those who have something to hide, on the other hand, will always try to obfuscate and dig in their heels as more information comes to light.
Trump is worried about what James Comey might say at today’s hearings. He’s trying to reframe the narrative and get ahead of any potential bad news. And that alone makes him look guilty as hell.
The truth will eventually win out. And when it does, if it winds up pointing to Donald Trump, all the angry tweets in the world won’t be able to save him.
Put your seatbelt on; it’s gonna be a bumpy ride.
