If you thought that perhaps President Trump would now try to get back to actually doing his job instead of obsessing over the Russia investigation, at around six Tuesday morning he once again showed that he will toss anyone under the bus in his attempt to try and dismiss Special Counsel Robert Mueller.
With three tweets, Trump further undermined his own Attorney General, Jeff Sessions:
Ukrainian efforts to sabotage Trump campaign – "quietly working to boost Clinton." So where is the investigation A.G. @seanhannity

Attorney General Jeff Sessions has taken a VERY weak position on Hillary Clinton crimes (where are E-mails & DNC server) & Intel leakers!

Problem is that the acting head of the FBI & the person in charge of the Hillary investigation, Andrew McCabe, got $700,000 from H for wife!

Here we go again: The Trump obsession with Hillary Clinton. He loves to brag that he won the election, but in the back of his mind he cannot get past the simple fact that he lost by 3 million votes. Also, he seems to be projecting his own problems with Russia onto Clinton and the Democrats. It’s a common strategy for Trump, but he’s used it so many times that it’s obvious and ineffective.
Trump is convinced that he can pressure Sessions to resign and he can then appoint someone who isn’t recused from the Russia matter to be head of the Justice Department. That new AG can then fire the special counsel and end the Russia investigation.
But what the president fails to realize is that should his handpicked hatchet man at the DOJ fire Mueller, it will speed up the impeachment process and could also lead to the appointment of an even more determined special prosecutor.
The reaction on Twitter to Trump’s unhinged Tuesday rantings was swift:
Deflection is not working. Hillary is not the issue,u & Russia are the issue. If there was anything to it she wld b under FBI investigation.

Does #tRUMP's poorly punctuated tweet mean
that he’s appointed @seanhannity his A.G.,
thus making @FoxNews his D.O.J.? pic.twitter.com/o5b4itU3Aa

You got lots of money from all sorts of nations, including Russia and Saudi Arabia. Hypocrite much?

Emperor Trump thinks he can unilaterally destroy the entire #TrumpRussia investigation. He doesn't understand how a democracy works.

Though it seems highly unlikely President Trump understands the first thing about American history, he should have someone explain to him what happened when Richard Nixon fired the special prosecutor, Archibald Cox, during the Watergate investigation. We can all hope the end result is the same and this current cancer will also be excised from the Oval Office.
