To be fair though, it’s not just prayer that he needs your help with to make change in government, he also plans on using the Bible as a sort of playbook to get things back on track in Washington. In an interview this past week, he had this to say:

?I come from a biblical world view in the way that I address issues. When I look at Nehemiah and how he handled the things when he stepped into Jerusalem, it was that the people were in disgrace and the wall was broken down. But the two things that he focused in on was the obstructive side of things and the debt. Half of the book of Nehemiah is just getting the people out of debt, so they could actually take on other things.?

As for the power of prayer, he asked for support by saying:

?I encourage people to pray as much as we complain. We’re all pretty frustrated with what’s happening in government, let’s lean in, let’s pray it through, and let’s deal with this.?

Now while I am all for freedom of religion, or lack thereof, does having such a ?biblical world view? really bode well for America? On this course, before long we will be stoning adulteresses in the streets, bringing back slavery, reducing a woman’s status to property, and offering blood sacrifices. These things are in fact in the Bible and, would fall under Senator Lankford’s ?biblical world view.?

This sort of view sounds more along the lines of how ISIS views its own ideology. But Senator Lankford doesn’t stop there. No talk of government reform would be complete without his talk of repealing the Affordable Care Act. As the Senator puts it, ??we’ve actually got to block the things that President Obama is pushing, but the other one is to actually put forward things that we would agree with.?

So by all means Oklahoma, pray if that’s what you think will make your world right and whole. But when the time comes that religions and churches start to make laws, which some would say they already do, maybe then would be the time to start taxing said churches.

Besides, all of that tax-exempt money would do wonders for the national deficit. What would Jesus do?
