White House ‘Taken Aback’ By GOP Aide’s Attack On Sasha And Malia Obama

The swift fall of former GOP aide Elizabeth Lauten has been well documented. After attacking Sasha and Malia Obama on Thanksgiving, the internet reacted and things got ugly quickly. But as angry with Lauten?as we?were, imagine how you would feel if you were the parents of these sweet children? Not only were Sasha and Malia Obama bullied — by an ADULT — but they were bullied in front of the whole world.

White House spokesman Josh Earnest said this, from ABC News:

?I was taken aback that there was a political operative on Capitol Hill who took the occasion of the Thanksgiving event to criticize the first family,? Earnest said, marking the first official comment from the White House on the incident.

Asked whether the White House believes in principle that the first daughters should be ?off limits,? Earnest said, ?A principle like that is pretty much common sense.?

?Me and all the people in this room have ability to speak publicly … and we choose our words wisely,? he said. The incident is ?a reminder of how important that is.?

Elizabeth Lauten has a long history of lacking wisdom. She apologized (lamely) and resigned her post.
