Potylo And Vermin Supreme Are Shaking Up The Boston Political Scene

Rob Potylo is no ordinary comedian. He exemplifies where politics and art come together. Often mistaken for an actual protestor, this cat ear wearing funnyman gets this NYPD ?lady cop? swooning.

This isn’t the first time he has done comedy with cops on the frontlines of a protest. Most recently he serenaded a Boston cop with his original song, ?Some Cops are Cool.?

Rob Potylo models himself after his mentor Vermin Supreme. Vermin Supreme has been a viral Internet meme and overlooked Presidential candidate for quite some time, running on a platform for a free pony for every American. He even made it to the New Hampshire lesser known democratic candidates debates.

Vermin Supreme and Rob Potylo recently appeared in a documentary together, along with founder of ?The Rent is TOO Damn High Party,? Jimmy McMillan. Who is Vermin Supreme: An Outsiders Odyssey is directed by filmmaker Steve Onderick. It is the story behind Vermin Supreme’s unsuccessful 2012 bid for President on the Anarchist ticket.

According to the filmmaker Steve Onderick, they are screening it at The Paramount theater in Boston on St. Patrick’s day at 7pm as part of Emerson’s Bright Lights series.

Currently, Rob is broadcasting a radio show on WEMF. In addition to his hilarious radio show, I found what might be an even funnier cable and internet series that he is a part of called “Quiet Desperation.” The show which is directed by Rob Potylo, Erik Angra, and Steve Onderick “features over 300 creative types in Greater Boston, behind and in front of the camera working together to make a lovely grassroots reality sitcom with complete creative control.”
