Earlier today, I wrote about Trump’s veiled threats to former FBI Director James Comey in advance of Comey’s Thursday testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee. Trump told reporters that he wishes Comey “luck,” and a paranoid Pres. Trump plans to live-tweet during Comey’s testimony.

Here is what the LA Times says we can expect from Thursday’s testimony:

Everything they can involving the Russia investigation and Trump’s directives to Comey. Questions that are likely to be posed include:

  • What are the details of the meeting between Trump and Comey?
  • Did Trump demand Comey’s loyalty, as reports have suggested?
  • Did Comey find any evidence that the Trump campaign coordinated with Russia?

And Comey will probably be READY to talk about his meeting with Trump. Apparently it was so disturbing that he pleaded with Attorney General Jeff Sessions to not leave him alone with Pres. Trump anymore.

From the New York Times:

The day after President Trump asked James B. Comey, the F.B.I. director, to end an investigation into his former national security adviser, Mr. Comey confronted Attorney General Jeff Sessions and said he did not want to be left alone again with the president, according to current and former law enforcement officials.

Mr. Comey believed Mr. Sessions should protect the F.B.I. from White House influence, the officials said, and pulled him aside after a meeting in February to tell him that private interactions between the F.B.I. director and the president were inappropriate. But Mr. Sessions could not guarantee that the president would not try to talk to Mr. Comey alone again, the officials said.

According to the Times, Comey didn’t reveal to Sessions at that time the reason he was so disturbed by his meeting with Trump: Trump’s request that Comey end the investigation into former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn.

Mr. Comey’s unwillingness to be alone with the president reflected how deeply Mr. Comey distrusted Mr. Trump, who Mr. Comey believed was trying to undermine the F.B.I.’s independence as it conducted a highly sensitive investigation into links between Mr. Trump’s associates and Russia, the officials said. By comparison, Mr. Comey met alone at least twice with President Obama.

Well, Mr. Comey, welcome to the world of women everywhere who don’t want to be alone with Donald Trump.
