What better song to parody in “honor” of Donald Trump than “Send in the Clowns?” And who better to perform it than Barbra Streisand, who has campaigned for Democrats since before I was born? That’s exactly what she did at a sold-out Clinton fundraising event, and the crowd LOVED it.
Donald Trump IS The Clown!
Streisand appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon just a few weeks ago. While there, she and Fallon performed a hilarious duet, with Fallon as Trump. My colleague Darrell Lucas wrote a fantastic piece about that appearance, and you can watch the video here.
The Clinton fundraising event, though, was a celebration of all things Barbra and Clinton. Several other celebrities appeared, but Streisand was definitely the main event.
Broadway World did us all a huge favor today in printing the lyrics to Streisand’s parody tune. There’s really not much more to say about this except that we love you, Ms. Streisand. Give Trump hell!
